INDIVIDUAL SUMMARY GUIDELINES
For this assignment, you are to prepare a written summary 3-5 pages in length (double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins) describing your own conclusions, thoughts, and insights about the policy analysis your group performed. The purpose of this assignment is to allow group members to demonstrate their individual mastery of the material, in order to offset the heavy point allocation of the group assignment. This assignment is worth 50 points.
Students should address the following questions in this writing assignment. Do not number your answers; instead, be sure that each question is answered sufficiently in a free-flowing essay format.
1. What is the policy you researched? Please provide a brief overview. What “expert conclusion” did your group reach about your assigned policy? Does this match your own conclusion about the policy? Why or why not? Give specific examples.
2. Were you familiar with this policy before taking this class? What is the most important thing you learned about your policy that you did not know before taking this class? Did your research this semester change your initial opinion or understanding of this policy? Why or why not? Please describe.
3. What is the most important thing you think policy makers should know about this policy, and why? What is the most important thing you think the general public should know about this policy, and why? Be specific.
